What is Cocktail Dressy?

The company I work at is throwing a cocktail party at the lodge and the invite said cocktail dressy. Will it be too dressy if I were a long spaghetti strap royal blue dress.....it is tight fitting to about 6in above te knees and then it is see through and real flowie. It will be pretty chilly so I have a faux fur stole too.
The dress doesn't show anything,lol. The people that own the company have money and own there own jet. I don't want to stick out but I kinda wanted to cover up my star tattoos on my chest,lol

cocktail dress is usally above the knee or at knee lenght. i've seen only dark colors for most that wear them so royal blue should be just fine.
